Autumn Term 1 – 2023-2024 – Determination

This half term our theme has been Determination, we have encouraged this in all Events and Festival for over 1000 Young People plus over 50 Young Leaders. Our Events this term have been:

Year 5/6 Cluster 1 Open TAG Rugby – 3 Primary Schools with 60 Participants –

Outcome: To develop confidence and competence within physical activity / sport skills and to improve knowledge and understanding of sport and physical activity.

Primary Cross Country – 21 Primary Schools with 476 Participants. We then had 60 Children represent Darlington at the Tees Valley Finals –

Outcome: To develop competence and confidence within physical activity/sport skills and increase regular participation and motivation.

Year 5/6 Cluster 2 Open TAG Rugby – 9 Primary Schools with 123 Participants –

Outcome: To develop confidence and competence within physical activity / sport skills and to improve knowledge and understanding of sport and physical activity.

Key Stage One Multi Skills – 13 Primary Schools with 347 Participants –

Outcome: Championing Physical Literacy and Creating Positive Experiences.

Year 5/6 Cluster 3 Open TAG Rugby – 8 Primary Schools with 127 Participants –

Outcome: To develop confidence and competence within physical activity / sport skills and to improve knowledge and understanding of sport and physical activity.

Year 5/6 Girls TAG Rugby – 7 Primary Schools with 63 Participants. We then had Polam Hall Junior School represent Darlington at the Tees Valley Girls TAG Rugby Finals –

Outcome: To develop confidence and competence within physical activity / sport skills and to promote success and achievement.

Year 5/6 Open TAG Rugby Finals – 8 Primary Schools with 74 Participants. We then had Abbey School represent Darlington at the Tees Valley Boys TAG Rugby Finals –

Outcome: To develop confidence and competence within physical activity / sport skills and to promote success and achievement.

Year 3/4 TAG Rugby Festival – 14 Primary Schools with 395 Participants –

Outcome: Increase regular participation and motivation and to engage new / target groups of young people (tackling equalities).

Year 7 Girls Active Festival – 2 Secondary Schools with 30 Participants.
