Year 5/6 Competitive Athletics pathway Event leading to Tees Valley Finals on Wednesday 28th June 2023.
This is NOT a School Games event but an elite, pathway competition. It is a scaled down event for this year due to the building work being carried out at Eastbourne Sports Complex.
Schools will be based on the 3G and events will take place on the 3G/Track (if ready) and/or ST Aidan’s grass pitches. Children will be escorted to the activity areas. NO SPECTATORS will be allowed and schools need to ensure they have adequate staff to supervise children in all the activity areas (min of 3 staff). They will need to consider how to entertain their children in their area on the 3G when not competing.
Max of 8 schools in the morning (small/medium schools) and 8 schools in the afternoon (medium/large schools)
No heats; straight finals. 1 competitor per event (not the usual 2) No relays. 600m will be held if the track is ready if not schools will need to run this event at their school and submit the fastest times. We will be trusting schools to do this accurately and with our trust. Restriction on number of track and field events an individual can do 1 track and 1 field. Events are: 55m hurdles, 600m, 60/80m sprint, chest push, long jump, howler throw, triple jump, relay
This is suitable for young people who enjoy and are motivated by competition, and who are fully prepared and trained for the event/s they are competing in
Intent: To support individual development in athletics, and to broaden experience and opportunity to complete in this large, traditional inter-school pathway event.
Bookings are closed for this event.
